Asthma Health Educator needed for 6 to 12 months
Opportunity Description: The American Lung Association of California is seeking committed volunteers (you) to teach in a local program called Oakland Kicks Asthma. Asthma disproportionately affects children in low income, urban communities, making it an epidemic in the East Bay. The goal of Oakland Kicks Asthma is to teach children basic asthma management and prevention skills to improve the quality of life for youth suffering from asthma. Volunteer Asthma Health Educators should be good communicators, dependable and flexible. We require you to teach two series of classes in elementary schools. Classes are scheduled once a week on the same day for four weeks and are 1 hour each. Your total hours will be at least 8, plus training time.
